Purpose and uniform method
RockBot Research organizes general and impersonal market research. The same versioned rules and labels apply to every user and symbol. A ticker search or local watchlist filters which research is displayed; it does not change the methodology according to a user’s holdings, finances, objectives, experience, or risk tolerance.
This public summary explains the evidence categories, coverage behavior, and material limitations. The implementation is maintained as a tested, version-controlled method and may change only with a documented product update.
Daily market history
RockBot requests daily OHLCV history through the Ready to Rock Stocks Market Gateway, validates returned records on the device, retains a bounded recent history, and calculates displayed research locally. Source Health identifies the returned source, source date, freshness, and failure state. See the complete market-data attribution and limitations.
For repeat requests, the app can briefly reuse validated in-memory or persistent history. If a later refresh fails, previously validated last-known-good history may remain available with its stored source and as-of context; cached history is not represented as a successful new refresh.
Market Pulse and ticker research
The ticker condition index is a bounded, consistent summary of standard trend, momentum, participation, breakout, and variability evidence. Ticker detail presents the underlying indicators, chart, state labels, and factor audit so users can review the evidence rather than relying on the index alone. Additional volatility, drawdown, range, and longer-horizon measures may be shown as context without becoming condition-index inputs.
Market Pulse applies a separate fixed, versioned method to broad-market, growth, small-cap, credit, and volatility context. Additional market and asset-class cards are displayed separately and do not create another combined score. Where the method permits an unavailable component, it uses a neutral fallback rather than presenting the missing input as measured evidence.
The Unified Ticker Brief displays equity condition, SEC ownership filings, and chart patterns as three separate lenses. It calculates no combined score. Empty, missing, and source-error states remain explicitly labeled.
Pattern Scanner
The Pattern Scanner uses a bounded recent-history view, volatility-normalized swing points, and family-specific geometric rules. It can identify ascending, descending, or symmetrical triangles; rectangle ranges; rising or falling wedges and channels; broadening formations; double tops or bottoms; head-and-shoulders or inverse head-and-shoulders; and bull or bear flags. Weaker, overlapping, and duplicate candidates are filtered before a limited set is displayed.
Structure match summarizes how closely the observed pivots and boundaries fit the relevant pattern family, including considerations such as line fit, convergence or flatness, shoulder similarity and head depth, or flag-pole and channel fit. Boundary state and volatility-scaled distance are displayed separately. Structure match is not a completion probability, price target, expected return, or forecast.
SEC ownership filings
RockBot resolves official SEC Forms 4 and 4/A to raw ownership XML and preserves qualifying non-derivative purchase and sale rows for review. The current measures use recent rows that meet fixed materiality and data-quality requirements. Identified 10b5-1, withholding, automatic-sale, restricted-stock, RSU, and other excluded activity does not enter those measures.
Purchase-versus-sale balance compares qualifying reported purchase and sale value. Activity intensity considers reported-value magnitude, the number of distinct reporting owners, recency, reported role, and shares relative to reported post-transaction holdings. Older qualifying rows may appear in a separate bounded historical review but never enter current indices. The coverage record distinguishes attempted, parsed, failed, current, historical, excluded, and no-qualifying-activity states.
Transaction codes and calculated balance or intensity measures do not establish an insider’s motive or predict issuer performance.
Options Contract Analysis
RockBot Contract Evaluation analyzes user-entered contract facts including ticker, call or put, expiration, strike, and premium per share. Optional user-entered fields can include broker-reported implied volatility, current underlying price, bid and ask, volume, open interest, risk-free rate, and dividend yield. RockBot does not retrieve or independently verify those option fields.
Pattern evidence is recalculated for an evaluation, and sufficiently complete current SEC evidence is obtained from the device or refreshed from official SEC hosts when needed. If no current underlying price is entered, RockBot uses the latest validated daily close. If broker-reported implied volatility is omitted, RockBot solves price-implied volatility locally with a European Black-Scholes model using premium, spot, strike, time, rate, and dividend assumptions. Default assumptions are a 4% risk-free rate and 0% dividend yield; displayed inputs can override them.
The Unified Context Index combines contract structure, canonical pattern alignment, and qualifying current SEC purchase-versus-sale alignment through fixed, versioned weighting. Contract-structure factors include breakeven demand, volatility and time-decay load, premium/model separation when independently available, trend, momentum and participation, and entered bid/ask liquidity. Historical SEC rows never enter the index, and no options-provider request is sent.
A completed review with no qualifying current pattern or SEC evidence is represented at the model midpoint; that convention is not evidence that a security or contract is neutral. Source and error states are unavailable, reduce model coverage, and cause available components to be reweighted. Equal index values with different coverage do not represent equivalent evidence. SEC alignment considers contract direction and is tempered by reported activity intensity; it does not establish motive, causation, timing, predictive value, or contract merit.
Black-Scholes references omit American early exercise, jumps, discrete dividends, borrow constraints, volatility skew or smile, fees, and execution costs. Entered premium, quote, IV, and spot values are not independently verified and may have different timestamps. The result is not a live quote, options chain, fair value, chain rank, probability, expected return, appraisal, forecast, recommendation, proof of insider motive, or transaction instruction.
Local research records
The app retains a bounded set of device-local research records and source-health recovery or timestamp notes. Comparisons and timeline events are derived from those local records. “New” means newly present versus an earlier local observation of the same type and symbol; it does not mean profitable, predictive, or newly issued by a provider.
Availability and corrections
Market data, filings, contract inputs, and calculated outputs can be delayed, incomplete, stale, unadjusted or affected by differing corporate-action handling, amended, corrected, mistyped, or unavailable. Methods and presentation may change with a documented product update. Material information should be independently verified.
